Anyone got a 2005 x5 3.0d, I would love to hear your stories.

I had one (2005 3l diesel) which i sold to my son. He recently sold it on. Are you still interested in a story? Very nice car. Mine cracked the exhaust manifold (metal double skinned) and on repairing it i lost an injector washer without knowing/realizing it. Started leaking diesel past the injector and gave a diesel smoke smell inside the car. Tried to replace the manifold with a new cast iron manifold i got off EBay UK but could not get one injector out so left it at that. A few months later borrowed injector removal tool from BMW nogal and replaced the washer. Did not replace the manifold as we had already sold it to a Forum member who needed one. By this time car had done about 230k kms without serious problems apart from manifold cracks (common problem). Also replaced rear suspension components soon after i got it. Really enjoyed the car when i had it. My second X5 and a more enjoyable car than the 2003 pre face lift model i had before. I will however advice you to look at the E70 models! Diesel! Did not experience any other problems iirc.
