Alternator heating up and smoking

Guys i need abit of help.... alternator is smoking and making a wining sound any advice??

Must be the bearing that's now damaged. Get a reconditioned one.

Bearing was my first thought when I saw the thread.

You might be lucky and the thing might still be worth rebuilding. Or it could be fubar.

To find out, take it out of the car and strip it. Or take it to an auto electrician. Or tow the car to a workshop. Or have it towed. Or sell it to me for R10K, hehehe.

You would need to have a fully fully charged battery to drive any significant distance
If you already have to resort to jump starting, and after jumpstarting, the alternator doesn't keep replenishing your vehicles electrics, then you are stuck....sorry

put the battery on charge, to make sure it is full, then you can in an emergency drive a short distance to a place of repair

So i found the slip for my alternator and had my old original part refurbished so anyone want to make me an offer for the original part that has been refurbished?
