Car sound install Mk2 including full size OEM satnav headunit

It has been a long ride with this one through a number of "proffesionals" in the Western Cape. Most things have had to be done twice and that remains the most frustrating thing about being a fanatic in WP:(

An example is the sound install that after R45K sounds and feels like shit:argh:. The installers wash their hands of their shoddy workmanship and you just end up doing it all over again.

All in all I am very happy with the progress even though it has taken forever and this one is staying in my garage for a long time to come.

Enjoy
Nick

Where did you get that intake and also..... whats happening with the M5?

Got the intake from ART who I cannot say enough good things about.

The M5 is STILL having the engine rebuilt at you know where. Last I heard the wiseco's were being fitted this week. Has been 18 months now and I have to admit my patience has run it course and come to an end:(

Where'd you have your sound done?

The re-install will be done by Shafiek @ Car Hi-fi. He has just finished a spectacular job on my R33 GTR. The original installers are a company in Wynberg. I don't want to be accused of slagging anyone on a public forum so if you really do want to know drop me a PM. The install failed on all the most critical components of a good sound install. The sound deadening was either not installed were it was required or was installed poorly, the door pods were never actually build or installed, the sub box fires in the wrong direction for an e46, creaks horridly, shifts under load and buzzes when cranked, there have been multiple wiring issues including supposed high quality RCA splitters failing. The RF 3Sixty was not even configured. All of these issues were discussed prior to install and assurances were provided that the correct path had been taken. One fateful day a few months ago I lost my cool and took of a door panel and saw first hand what they had not done. Game over.

This compared with the step by step enagement I had with Shafiek. Every step of the install was documented and agreed upon. He results speak for themselves. The R33 sounds incredible.

Enough whining:)

Her sound will be amazing again soon:)

Its just perfect... I love the look of it. Everything fits in perfectly, including the wheels!!

Good work bud, im also interested in an intake for my 330i, been looking around for a while but the prices are ridiculous.

Gruppe M is over 10k but i suppose in that case you get what you pay for.

If you don't mind, would you be able to PM me costings on the intake you have?
