Hi Fanatics,

I have standard e90 model, I recently changed my 16inch wheels for the ellipsoid 18inch wheels. the car now makes some propeller like sound when driving, when driving slow the sound is audible, but when I start going fast maybe like 120km, the air-plane propeller like sound stops, until i slow down then its loud again, i have eliminated the bearings as this sound only came up after i changed the wheels.

any idea whats causing this sound? you help is much appreciated

Regards
Thabo

These cars do fly!

Yep, I would suspect tyre noise - what brand and tyre of tyres are fitted? Were they new or used?

Try and get a better set of tyres - Hankooks offer great value, just the rear tyres that are always going to be more pricey regardless of what you get...

There's your problem

+ 1 000 000 000 000 000 000 000
When I had my vtec I had k@k dunlops on and had the same noise, as soon as I changed to pirellis the noise was gone.

Yup me too, had cheap ass dunlops on my e46 and had the same noise, back to Bridgestone and the noise was gone.
