Why do you want to fit an aftermarket radio?

There is allot of wire adaptors available on the market for the wiring loom to various radio's. otherwise you can google the pinouts for the radio and then fit it yourself. anything is possable.

Well my standard radio is up to Kak, it doesnt play most cd's and the cd's that do play, stop after like 5 tracks.
so i need to change it.

Damian, what year is your mini as with 2005 thereabouts, I have come across some topics on forums that show it to be quite easy to change stereos, but on a 2011 for instance, I cant see a "normal" rectangular stereo fitting in with the speedo custom stereo thing?

Mine is a 2003, a normal 1-din radio should fit, but i want my steering controls to work as well, and im looking for something the matches the lights of the dash. any ideas?

Look into ALPINE. They are amongst the best, and certain ALPINE model's colour settings can be adjusted to match the colours in your car. In fact, I was actually able to do that with one of the "higher-end" JVC's.
