Advised against lowering springs

I'm following a set of 20 inch e92 M3 Reps on EBay .Now I'm no big fan of reps but this is a 20 inch version of the 19s I have on.

I want the car looking stock but different and these 20s with a 15/25 drop will certainly make this car look look different.
Called and authorised BMW workshop , Funnily enough called "quarry Road motors" and the guys said to me " why would you want to mess with the M setup"

On an SE model a suspension certainly sharpens things up but does it really do anything for M cars, unless you're going full track set.. Coilovers lightened alloys anol.

reason for the minimal Drop on the M cars is they are pretty damn near perfect ride height in stock form... the lowering springs are made more for looks than anything else on this car...

you need to combine them with some uprated dampers to get any real benefit from them...

If I may add...

Reps shouldn't be on an e92 M3. You are compromising quality (think of the material strength, and quality of the alloy...), and any true blooded petrol head will be able to spot a rep wheel, so it's not worth it for the 'look'...

Keep the suspension stock, unless you are pushing it to the limit, and the car is not delivering..... But u have to be tracking the car every weekend, to come to this point.....

What do the others say?

Agreed on the wheels
Agreed on everything else too:thumbs:

Sensible views here.
Force of habit I guess... I've always added bigger wheels and a suspension to my other cars, but they were never Ms

Not to mention two of our national flowers. The speed bump and the most revered pothole.. :nonono:

A ferry ride to Zeebrugge then an 8 hr drive. Funny enough , I was planning a trip at the end August.
M school have an m session in the track- closed off just for that course-- no other traffic .

We not that lucky... No speeding, no aggressive driving , no threatening behaviour tolerated re road rage, errr, you're right we are a bit lucky
