Most service technicians will look past this yes, unless you have a motor related claim.
But can be seen/heard by the trained ear, and computer data logging will also tell stories.
However, 9 times out of 10 when your car goes for a service, it actually does not see ISIS, service interval resetting is done on the cluster, simply to safe time, and of course, machines.
Its quite easy for a machine to be tied up for the day doing programming on a customers car, and then another on a weird electrical problem which can steal isis also for a day, and so on, and so on.
But if your car came in with a bearing knock or something daft, then the guys are going to looking and you will void your plan.

Ah ok i didn't think it would affect the cars computer? But wouldn't they also need a lot of proof that there was a down pipe installed?

tcal69 said:Even if you remove it everytime, without physical proof, if there is something wrong, chances are BMW will still make up some BS:yuck:
You gotta pay to play:nonono:

Burgy@ProjectShift said:If the downpipe is removed before the service and the OEM one is put back in with original gaskets etc it should be fine.
Problem comes in if something happens and the car needs to go to bmw unexpectedly, with the dp in, they'll pick it up.
