Advice on cleaning engine inside

Good day fanatics.
Im looking for your advice...
I was riding my bike and suddenly my clutch lever went limp and my clutch would not disengage. Luck it happened just as I arrived home.
because the cable pivot was also loose I knew I had to open up the engine side cover and take a look.
My bike (not actually a bmw) uses a clutch pressure plate bearing. The bearing disintegrated and lost its balls. and the bearing side walls turned into glitter oil. I dropped the sump and eventually found all the balls.
I want to clean the engine where I can access it from the removed side cover and sump, in view to get rid of the metallic traces of the bearing before I start engine flushes with cheap oil to final oil.

Now where I need advice...My Boet as a hand pumped can thing that can squirt paraffin. can I use paraffin to clean the oil residue off the exposed gears / cogs etc? If not, what else? carb cleaner mabe?
Any thoughts are appreciated.
