Advice Needed - Engine Fault Warning Popped Up

Hey Guys

So yesterday I was driving my car, E92 335i 70/30 between spirited driving and cruising when an the engine fault warning light popped up, with the reduced power message.

I know the car will reduce power if it feels the engine is in danger, however the car didn't actually lose power and felt like it was running normal. I drove cautiously for a while, pulled into a parking lot and left the car idling for a while, thereafter switched the car off and started it again and the error message was gone. Has something similar happened to any of the forum members or could some one advise me on what has happened. Could it just have being heatstroke or something more serious, (Vanos Solenoids, HPFP, Injectors)

Just for FYI purposes the car has 54 xxx kms on the clock, if I can remember correctly the temp was sitting between 100 to 120 which is the norm.

Thanks

If you have k+dcan cable or can borrow one and android phone you can read codes for free with MHD app

Yeah only way is to check fault codes, could be a million things or nothing. My n54 did this a few times. I cleared faults and I haven't seen it again. Reduced power normal just kills the boost mostly.
These n54 are amazing but temperamental.

Yeah I think I'm going to have to do the same thing just need to find a good mech/ fellow forum member close to the Lenasia area, wouldn't want to drive to far with the car in that state

The car goes into limp mode when something is out of tolerance. One does not own a 335i without experiencing limp mode.

Check the error codes and take it from there.

had the same issue with mine but couldnt pick up any error codes, it wouldnt lose power but the last time it did, the turbo cut out. i have since changed the battery and have not had the issue since. goodluck bud

The Warnings are quite Dramatic both the Tire Pressure loss and heart stooping caution Triangle.
I suggest have the car scanned for codes, Mine random throws up the error as well, Codes say its the O2 sensor - I have had it cleared and check and every time its the O2 sensor.

One of many possibilities I guess..

That's interesting, that the change of battery sorted the issue out for you will take that into consideration

So gents I did a a diagnosis on my car. The error is loss of boost, a 30FF code. :smashScreen::thumbdo:

What would be the next step in order to sort this problem out and who would you guys recommend to sort this issue out?

I would also like to know how costly the repairs could be??

Check for boost leaks. Check the charge pipe and intercooler connections for leaks. Also check vacuum lines. Clear the code and see if it comes back
