Advice / assistance: Comp box for 2001 318i (Auto) for paraplegic man

Good morning.

If anyone would be so kind to assist me with info or advice - I am trying to help a paraplegic man who has problems with his BMW 2001 318i (auto) - computer box blown yet again after he repaired it before (it is not the first time). As you know it is costly and they are now at wits end and he is without transport yet again. He cannot drive any other car?! It is an auto specially converted so as for him to use his hands to drive it with roof rack / lift for his wheelchair. :dunnoanymore:

Please let me know who we can take the car to to see why this is happening and who is best to assist (with the best prices- of course...to assist this person).

I really want to help them. It must be so frustrating to be without transport all the time.

I called ZF services in JHB but was told that this is a GM model and not a ZF they only do ZF. (whatever that means...)

I was referred to a guy who told me it is +- R7500 ex VAT for computer box (is this what is costs?!:thumbdo but I also want someone to check why this happened - not only replace it - so that we do not get money together for him to replace it and due to a fault on the car or something it happens again? :dunnoanymore:
