Hi everyone

So Im looking at getting a 2007 BMW 130i Manual. 112 000km

The vehicle is really clean and Im keeping away from the auto boxes as I know they are very expensive to fix/replace if they fail.

Is there anything else that I should know about this model that I should look out for? Known issues/weak points?

e.g I currently drive an MK5 GTI. The aircon compressors are known to go. Well mine did after 18 months. R9k to replace....

I know I cant account for everything but any info/advice would be much appreciated so my mechanic can check it out and I can negotiate accordingly.

Finally , who do you buy your spares from? Goldwagon?

Cheers

He won't spend much more on fuel than his current spend on the GTI. I've experienced both. :coolShake:

I agree with the above, not bad on fuel at all.

Worst ever tank in my car was 12.6l per 100kms, the best ever was 7.5l per 100kms.

Overall the N52 is a solid motor. Now and then there are issues with hydraulic lifters making noises on cold start, and I've read a few posts where the electric water pump went. Other than that no issues.

Good luck with the shopping

I've had my 330i for several years and it's sitting +200000km. The only thing that's failed is the electric water pump. These N52 engines are very strong and reliable.
Doing regular service keeps the car in tip-top shape. It's even cheaper to diy, which I've realized how easy it is recently.
I suggest you take an aftermarket warranty for peace of mind.
