The requirement has been changed to a minimum of 100 posts. I think it was changed about a month or 2 ago.

I cannot for the life of me understand this 100 post requirement. I mean most guys just make mundane comments to falsely get their post count up. What difference does it make whether you have 40, 50, 99 or 100 posts.

If someone has something BMW related to sell then surely all the members on the forum stand to benefit from that? You can get spammers or bad sellers with 100 posts so it's not like the 100 post minimum guaranteed quality marketplace threads?

To me you can only control quality through moderation, deleting bad threads or banning bad members?

No, we don't really. If so, maybe once in a blue moon.

The odds of getting someone signing up and posting a scam sale as their first post are a lot higher.

For the protection of the members, the post count requirement is one level in security the forum offers, before others.

That may be true in some cases but a cursory look at my posts (55 or so) will reveal that I am a decent contributor to the forum and make sensible worthwhile contributions yet I cannot post an item for sale until I get to 100 posts. I'll be the same then as I am now.

You made it to 55, you'll make it to 100.

You're still very new here.

Spammers trying to get to 100 just to post a sale are easily caught out and banned.

Please help me too, I see I cannot edit my own 'for sale' ad, https://www.bmwfanatics.co.za/showthread.php?tid=80873
please change price to 70K and remove the 45L panniers from the list of extras.

Hey bud, just put a new post in the thread.

I have, but if someone opens the post for the first time they see the old info, might not scroll down, kinda spoils it.....c'mon, change it please, I know you can, I'm a global mod/owner on another forum, I know how easy it is to do, it's not a question of whether it can be done or not, it's a case if someone is prepared to or not....
