ACS on 328

Howzit,

Got my 328 the other day.
BMW wants 12500 for the performance exhaust (just a back box and tips) - is it worth the money? They did not have the performance upgrade available on the 328.

How would the cost of ACS compare?
Anyone know the cost of similar exhaust at JSN (ACS)? as well aas cost on performance upgrade?

much obliged

I remember reading a post some time ago of someone who fitted the BMW exhaust. Apparently there was no performance gain but it did sound much nicer(according to the vehicle owner). I don't have any advice sorry, but I can't understand why an exhaust system should cost that much.

It sounds amazing and it is worth the money. I've got a thread on here somewhere with a vid.

Regarding ACS - its around the R45k amount depending on exchange rate.

I think you'll gain a few ponies, but I can't justify the price vs performance gain. If you want a nice sounding exhaust and want to keep your warranty and motorplan then by all means yes, it sounds great.

I don't think the exhaust will result in any performance gains. However I do think the price is worth it for the docs alone, it completely transforms the sound.

Wow. That's awesome and definitely worth the money then! Does that car have any other mods or just the exhaust?

No, car was stock standard, just the MPE. Think it made 177wkw and 340is NM at FR&R in this guise.

Congrats dude! Awesome cabbie.

Finding wheels that fit is a pain in the haas. I think blacking out your rims and dropping the suspension will make them pop.

Also took mine 9 and a half months to arrive. Sure is worth the wait though!

How much is the acropovic?

Was quoted R48k 20 months ago for full exhaust on 335. So probably R50k now.

I personally don't think it's worthwhile getting a 328, then doing MPerf chip and exhaust or ACS as it will cost around R50k, price difference between 328 and 335 is just over R100k bearing in mind it has additional features standard, if financially possible I would rather have gone for a 335! Just my opinion

Can you give me the part number?

Dont have it sorry, any BMW dealer should be able to assist. There is only 1 M Performance exhaust for the 328 :coolShake:

I did my research, everyone was saying buy the N20 as it's less and then play with it to get it to 335i power levels. All things considered I know the N20 can kick out more power modded than the 335i stock but I would not be phased. Bought the 335i. Best decision I ever made! We shall see where I go from here but for now she has more than enough power to keep me happy and smiling. :praise:

The pricing on BMW OEM Performance parts is high, and when you add that all up you are correct it's better to just buy the 335i if you want power under maintenance plan. My 2c :coolShake:
