ACL rod bearings e46 M3

Hi guys

Has anyone used ACL rod bearings on the S54 motor? Or used ACL bearings on an M motor?
How do they compare over oem bearings?

It's a plaster for a bigger problem. You are generally making a tight clearance even tighter.

The problem remains.

1. Knocking due to our fuel quality.
2. Multiple prior owners not taking care of the car as it should be (revving when cold, 25k plus oil internals, wrong oil used)

Change the bearings with stock ones, stick to the right oils, don't rev hard when cold and change oil every 10-15k and it will last.

I have VAC coated bearings in my car, have used them since 2010. Did an engine rebuild a few years back and when we pulled the Vac coated bearings, there was not a single mark on them and were still within tolerance, so we reused them.

ACL work fine and are a good choice. Just be sure to change oil every 10k km and you'll be fine.
