Hey guys I got in an accident last week. My car got hit on the right side by the fender. The wheel was turned to the right at the time of the impact so now my right wheel is moving with the car but moves back and forth whilst the car is moving. What could the problem be.

Lower control arm/hub/bearing/tie rod/steering rack could all be damaged.

Control arms are designed to snap on impact, it is a safety factor for the front end to collapse under impact to absorb forces and keep it out of the cabin.

Which means your BMW did its job.

Most likely upper control arm, lower control arm, steering rack ends, possibly even a bent shock.

Do an insurance claim, DO NOT drive the car.

If you have no insurance, then this could be expensive.

Have the car taken to a suspension specialist, maybe even HiQ or Supaquick can assist.

But again, the car is not safe, and if you are going to drive it, very slow speed until you know what the damages

Just want to add - go the insurance route. I hit a pavement one night in the rain and for the most part it didn't seem too bad so I was going to fix it without claiming. Well...it turned into a 60k bill so I claimed through insurance
