Before i joined the forum, i used to drive a 116i.
I have always looked after my cars, and when i sold my 116i about a year a bit ago, it was in mint condition.
2006 with 80 000km .

Friend of mine today, hit a pothole and stuffed up her tire. Went to the garage where she was and guess what i see.....my old 116i parked there...

THought i would go say hello to the owner, ask the petrol assisant where is the owner, he says the car has been "dumped' there with a flat tire for the past 3 days.

I decided to have a look at the car, so i go around looking at it...
left rear fender scratched and bumped in badly
left rear rim is a non bmw "city golf style" replacement which is buckled to crap
front right tire is ripped to shreads together with original rim indednt in about 2 inches,
front left fender and bumper and lights cracked and fked.
bonnet all scrached like if someone ran a drill agaisnt it.
fron right fender same as left front fender.

edit: forgot to mention, even the exaust was dented in. dont know how he managed that!

That car is sooooooooooooo damage.
Its so upseting to see the car that you once looked after soo well in such a state.

TO THE OWNER: YOU SHOULD RIDE A BICYLE! ALL CARS SHOULD HAVE A RESTRAINING ORDER AGAISNT YOU!

Sorry you had to go through that. Nobody likes to see their former baby being abuse.

abused is a understatement.

i have not seen a 2006 car to that damage!
the damage looked close to what u see on those honda balades 1990s...those that are all rusty and so on? that what it looked like

It sucks balls, it really does.....

I think once you sold your car, it "dies" in spirit, for you anyway....

Except my E34, saw her today at Werries's garage getting some work, man I miss that car.

I did however get a call the other day out the blue for a 2.8 Audi that I sold like 8 years ago on 140,000 odd on the clock. The new owner said that the car had over 300,000 on the clock, but was still super clean and drove like a dream... That cheered me up.

I am sure my ex scoobie has been written off ages ago...

I know. It sux big time.

Back in 1994 I helped my dad and my cousin to rebuild my VW Beetle. Everything was new. Everything. Sold her two years later and the new couple fscked her up in a matter of months. Broke my heart.

Also saw my ex 1996 toyota conquest a few years after I sold it. Also, buggered.

I do not ever, ever want to see one of my cars again after I sold it.

The sad reality is that we, the ones looking after our baby's, is the minority. I wonder sometimes what my old 92 Jetta cli look like these days. I kept her in real good condition.

Give me the numberplate, then I will let you know who the owner is, then you can send him a letter, or...
"Skiet die bliksem!!!"

I say a sad farewell to my cars once I sell them. I don't want to see them again, cos I know I'd just be :cursin:

Happened to me with my old Golf 3 GTI. Was completely original and immaculate when I got rid of her - saw her a few years later "all pimped" out and I felt like :bawling:

That's shocking. This is exactly why I make a point of never selling my cars to friends or anyone I might "run into" again. We put so much love and attention into our cars just to see them being treated badly by new owners. Not worth it.

My previous bmw is a piece of scrap metal now, the guy that baught it from me lent it to his twin brother,
he was in a fatal accident, 4 out of the 5 occupants died, all because a truck tried to overtake another truck,
and hit them head on, and there was a merc infront of them, driver also died, and another truck behind them, driver also died, so in total 6 deaths, and 1 critical injured, so they got sandwiched.
The total length of the 2000 model E46 320d after the accident was 2,18 meters... it happened in Kroonstad, so I didn't get any pictures.
