Was the 840 ever sold officially in our country?

840 was never sold here, and with those plates it's an import. The 840 is actually preferred overseas because it's easier to maintain than the M70-engined 850s, although of course the holy grail is the 850CSi.

Fordkoppie, couldn't see properly and didn't want to lurk about for too long - when people see me in the Mafia-mobile, they get nervous. :rollsmile:

Oh I see he changed his number plates at least to black on white now. I picked this car up on the N2 one evening on my way home from Stellenbosch, pulled up next to him and gave him a hoot and a :thumbs: and he just put his foot flat, I heard the gearbox drop 2 gears (auto) and when I heard him go, I dropped to 3rd and launched and he just quietly obliterated me into the sunset, this car IS NOT STOCK and sounded beyond awesome!!
