7 Seater X5

Hi, was wondering how comfortable are the rear seats on the 7 seater X5 and how accessible are they? I assume kids of up to about 13 will be OK for long distances (200kms or more at a time)? If not, will seriously have to reconsider if buying a seven seater is worth the effort. Thanks!

My dad has a F15 X5 7 seater. My 15 year old sister seemed fine at the back for a drive to Magaliesburg. If I recall I think there was a leg room adjustment capability though I don’t think it was much she didn’t seem to have any issues.

Don’t think it will cater for an adult however.

I had an E70 7-seater. The rear-most seats are really only good for smaller children under 10. I think a normal 13-yr old would soon become uncomfortable on longer trips. The middle bench seat does slide forward, though but not by much. The view from the rear is also very restricted for small kids.

If you really want the 7-seater, you should make sure that the car has the rear a/c controls, which provides additional ventilation to the kiddie seats. My car did not, and the kids were not really comfortable back there.

Strangely enough, I had a very similar one then Blue Shirt for a while.

My daughter was 10, and loved the rear seats. The setup/deployment is really easy and effortless.

However, they are cramped, and agree, the max comfort age is prob round about 13ish.

If we needed to take a second set of adults, squishing the child, or possibly two young children on the back is awesome...

I miss that car, I really do.

It's funny, I too have a 7 seater e70, I rammed my 6 foot 2 brother in law in the back over December holiday( including a return trip to Knysna) He seemed fine, that said he no longer talks to me. Blueshirt, and Leonard, we should compare pics of our X5s ;(

We did a road trip to the berg and an adult sat at the back of a Prado. I'd bet the X5 would be more comfy.
