530D Issues-continued

So the my one week old 2002 530D is still giving issues unfortunately.

When you are driving at 120 odd and you put your foot flat the car kicks down a gear and there is absolutely NO power at all, it cant climb past 120. However this problem is intermittent.

Yesterday at 120 odd I chased a C55 to over 200 with ease and did a few of those similar runs from 100 up and the car pulls like a steam train. This morning it couldnt clear the 120 mark again??

Also consumption has now settled on 12L/100kms.

Help??

Hows the gearbox? Have you checked this up by any mech to see if clutch is not slipping.

Can be anything from incorrect flow rate of injectors , faulty turbo , DPF blocked.

Best is to get the car logged. We can assist but you need to go past the shop and let Alister have a look at it.

Shop 4, Standard Close Minie’s, Corners Standard Close & Langwa Street, Strijdom Park

Vacum pipes.....

replace the pipes from the vacum tank to the turbo actuator and to the turbo itself. also clean/check the sensors that fit on the intake after the intercooler and on the bulkhead side of the intake manifold. they tend to oil up and give false readings. best place to start though is with the fault codes read...

keep us updated..

Car has been returned, seems the turbo has gone. Was billowing white smoke when I returned it this morning.

What's the mileage? AFAIK, 530d's don't just blow turbos that easily.

Only at 150k. Seems the MAF was also at fault.

Hi. I had a similar problem. Turned out to be the MAF and pressure converter on the turbo.

Try Turbo Exchange, in Joburg (not exactly sure where). Their turbos are exactly the same as the ones from the dealers at a fraction of the cost
