Hi guys

So as I'm about to go home and start the car,put the key in and all the lights come up as usual, the car doesn't start:cry: thought OK might be the earth running to the motor so I put jumper cables from the car body to the motor and still no luck. When I press the button I'm just getting a tick sound. What could it be, starter or battery? Will try and swop the battery later to see if it helps. Got the car towed home but I just want to check the battery first. Otherwise I will book the car in to be inspected.

Thanks in advance

Shuaib.

Are their no warnings on the dash? typical car on the lift or service soon warning?

Might be good to get the codes read. There would def be a code stored on the DME for a failed start.

it could be 2 things IMO. Failed starter or a failed battery.

Sounds like a duff starter/battery. If you check codes it'll probably say Term_50 activation fault on CAS. In this case DME won't have a fault.

OK so I managed to start the car by jump starting it twice to confirm if it was the battery and it is. But now I took the battery out and closed the boot by accident. Now I got a new issue to sort before I can get the new battery installed

My old e90 also dint have the key to manually open the boot.

I took the battery and connected it to jump points in the engine bay to open the boot

So my car is going in today to Sherwin's workshop. He said it seems like the starter is the issue. Can't wait to have the car up and running again.

Awesome stuff, if anybody can sort it out, its him - you spy over his 11sec 135i when you were there

So it is my starter that's the issue. Need to replace that now.
