Hi Guys

If you can help... have a sneaky misfire occur when opening up a bit. Below 100km/h no problem, but when overtaking and kickdown or turbo's kick in there is a shudder on the car and it then misfires/ sounds like its misfiring even at idle then. until switched off. Changed sparkplugs and coilpack, please advice bro's.

Regards

How full is your petrol tank? could be your hpfp, my friends 335i starts misfiring after he boosts very hard and he has to switch off the car and then on again after that it's fine, BUT this only happens when his range is below 60km never happens above that so he just makes sure he never starts running dry

Also try to cleaning the vanos solenoids, mine used to do the same thing back when I bought it. I cleaned them with some petrol and swapped them around when putting them back on it never happened again ...it's just simple ten minute diy..Google it

Thanks for the heads up, i filled up just before coming to work tonight. Half a tank and it still does it when gunning it a bit.

Thanks a million bra. Will look into the vanos system... you could be on to something here, never even crossed my mind and it makes sense as i replaced everything i could except injectors.

N54 or N55?

Mine (N55) used to do it around 3000rpm's, they isolated it to a vacuum pipe that had a tiny crack in it that was sucking in air causing exactly what you describe your symptoms to be.

With regards to fuel I have also discovered BP and Shell are the better fuel's for our cars.

Hope you get it sorted
