they have to be peeled of the backing and stuck onto your bootlid, as for the spacing you will have to get that right as the numbers are individual as per the original

just throw some masking tape over it as it is .. will keep them in line .. peel back .. and apply it to the cleaned bootlid ..

sorry don't have those for the e9x only in the full size M like the e36
