likely typo error. US cars are usually detuned than uk or our ones due to their fuel and stricter emissions laws but it would be awesome nonetheless, maybe a csl 1m coupe?

According to CAR Magazine, the 1series M will be launched with "around 270kw". Still a demon... and I am assuming the 332kw demon will be the next 6cyl turbo M3.

I reckon its not a typo. I think BMW did this purposefully and leaked it to see peoples responses. Its the same thing with the M5 being turbo. People complaint endlessly on the large forums. When test results started coming out with the X5M, X6M and 550i people have become more relaxed. Talk is the new M3 is a V6 twin turbo. Someone has told me this two years ago and I just laughed. Slowly its being leaked that potentially it is the motor its going to get. The engine does exist though but you never know what the marketing dudes decide because end of the day its up to them.

But why a V6? It is just so unbalanced. I know it takes up less space, but its just not the same as an I6! I sincerely hope they keep it inline.

Who knows. Maybe they are aiming for racing applications where weight distribution plays a role. Or maybe they just chopping two cylinders off the twin turbo V8.

doesn't work like that... V8 has a 90 degree bank angle but to be balanced the V6 needs to be 60 degrees which requires completely different tooling and machines
