330d Rough gear changing

Hi. I have an E90, 330D AUTO. The gear changing gets rough at times ... the gears take long to change and when it does it is not always smooth. This happens in both Normal and Sport. Recently there is a "Burning" smell coming from the car.

I guess that the gear-box needs to be replaced ...

Any suggestions please? Tx

Reset gearbox adaptions. the burning smell sounds like a pulley issue or a belt slipping

Crankshaft Dampner Pulley on its way out bud... drive the car very slow to your nearest mechanic/bmw and let them replace it. I had the same issue... costed around 8k at Tune Tech.

Clutch Delay valve, auto = no clutch

Arbee is right about the vibr damnpener. It's a costly part and very tedious to replace.

With the burning smell, +1 for the vibration dampener pulley as said above. Let us know if the gearbox returns to being smooth after resetting the gearbox adaptations.

Thank you all for the replys. I took the car to the mechanic today ... You wouldnt believe this ... There was a piece of plastic burning on the Exhaust, causing the 'burning smell'.

I will feedback once I reset the gearbox adaptations. Is there some a good place I can go to in JHB for this?
