I have a 328i E36 and want to fit the 325i M50 intake manifold mod on the car. I have to relocate the idle sensor and some vacuum piping. Did anyone do this before as I dont want take the car apart before I know exactly what to do. I have purchased the manifold with new throttle body. Any Suggestions?

I have done this to mine and...

if your car works good and your are not going to do track day or similar events,
then don't bother...

...unless you want to it for the hell of it.

Thanks. Does it give you any power gains from the line? I heard it does. I have got the import motor on mine. Flowed head, induction and exhaust. What mods do you suggest as this motor has alot of potential as I read.:bangdesk:

From the line...i doubt it unless you remap
M50 swop loses that low down power and you only feel the diff at higher revvs

I would just like to make it very clear that there is no torque loss when converting to the M50 manifold. The torque curve merely moves up the rev range by about 500rpm.

If this is your daily run about, its not a good idea, as freerider mentioned, the torque curve moves up the rev range so you loose the instant pull that the 328i has.
But if its your weekend car, M50 intake, CAI and remap, you will be smilling from around 3800rpm

These are my dyno graphs in the stages that i did the work to my car. (I have posted these elsewhere but here they are again for ease of reference.)
The intake really makes a big difference to me because I mostly drive on the highways to work and back which is 90% of my driving in this car.

The combination of the intake and the cams however means that my car is absolutely no good in a robot to robot dice - all the fun is in the mid- high rev range only:fencelook:

The intake conversion does make a difference in power, there was a blue e36 328 at ODR in durban and with unichip piper exhaust and intake mod it made 211hp on the wheels where a stock 328 makes 170hp on the wheels on the same dyno
