so , have strated with my first mods on my car.
done a remap and installed a bmc filter , and wow the difference is amazing .

was advised not to do a detcat though cause it will increase the fuel consumption ,was alo advised against changeing the back box for sound effect because the car is auto and will get to me on long trips.

pretty happy with what i got now and what i paid .

dunno where to go to next , battling to find the clear tails lights , so maybe will go custom sound install. any ideas?

What dumbass told you that a decat will increase your fuel consumption? It will DECREASE your fuel consumption!!!

sean sing from tunetech, and i am sorry but i think i will take his word for it , he has been doing my cars for a while now and he knows his stuff decats are not good for all cars .

doubt he woul;d have such a sucsessful buisness if he did not know what he was talking about

did some research on the web and although have not come across anything on a bmw , there are cases of other cars where a decat causes increased fuel consumption.

but for peace of mind going to ask savespeed and rob green fro their opinion.

lol, its rubish bro, after I did my exhaust and decat, my fuel consumption decreased allot. I drive a e39 540.. used to do like 10.5/11L per 100km... from JHB to PE. after my mods I now get 8.9L per 100km from JHB to PE. quite a damn big difference, my car is unichiped and dynotuned tho.. obviously if you drive like a d00$ your gonna get bad consumption, but if I take it easy and drive like a sane person, my fuel consumption is considerably lower than what it used to be.

what the guy is thinking of is if you remove too much back pressure from your exhaust ... then your engine wil OBVIOUSLY not run correctly, you have to get someone to make a decent exhaust and put proper mufflers in there to retain your backpressure.. removing the cats will give your exhaust MUCH better flow.

I'm not even gonna bother giving my opinion about sav/rgm.. but I've never heard anything bad about tunetech.

enverh.. come to the next jhb meet bro, I will show you and explain nicely what happens when u change that crap.. also then u can hear my exhaust and tell me if you think its worth tampering with your exhaust ...
