320d snapped crank

hi guys thanks for da info 323 upgrade need to sell my car to move to da dark side .A mate of mine has snapped his crank twice on his 320d 2004/5 could someone please help with some causes thanks

I have a snapped M54B30 crank here, comes out of a race car.

A failed harmonic damper can snap a crank in half, looks like your friend didn't bother to check the damper before he refitted another crank...dumbass!

Just saying, he should have found the cause of the first failure before fitting a new one...

That's true but it's his money down the drain not yours. I'm sure he appreciates the info though. And can get the car sorted properly and probably find a new mech aswell.

That's not a reason for it to happen twice.... There is obviously another issue causing this. Start with Gizmos advice
