I am sure this has been discussed here before but I can't seem to find the relevant threads.

Basically which is the best one?
Also what are the Pro and Cons?

The research I have done has returned the following:
AC Schnitzer - R32K - Wow!!! Sounds expensive
BMW Approved kit from Leo Hasse BMW - R24k fitted
Martins Motor Sport - R5k - Chip only

Some say the Chip only route is a bunch of BS and can seriously damage your vehicle and others are saying no it is fine...

So does anyone out there have the answers?
Who here has done something similar?

Tuning is the way to go.
But then comes the part with regards to keeping the motor plan.
Your car is still new so you'd want to keep that in tact. There was someone who did the BMW upgrade, apparently did some good to his car. But at R24k it can be costly to say the least. That being said its not just a "chip" that gets done

also speak to guys like Xcede, Project shift, Renzsport and Promotec, check on our Sponsors link above.

also first decide what it is you want from such a mod.

The BMW Kit contains: new engine control unit, charge air cooler,600 W electric fan, air guide, BMW Power kit badge, and various small parts.

Torque curve max 420Nm at 1750 1/min +40Nm

This also does not void the Motorplan or warranty so it looks good but as you say very pricey and there is no recovery of this cash when you sell the vehicle one day...

Well more power and better fuel economy...
but I don't want to damage my vehicle either...

I got a Quote from Xcede:

the cost is R 4 500 for repgramming of the ECU. Takes 1 hour. Will increase the power by 35kw and the torque by 100NM.

This sounds almost to good to be true....

Surely software only can't do this?
What does this do to my cars engine, gearbox, drivetrain etc...?

Where are the guys that have done this already?
