Hi There
Pretty new to BMW Fanatics, I hope some one can help.
My wife has had her car for a year and five months. At the beginning of this year the car started a slight squel which got louder as the time went buy. We took the car in and they told us that the car somehow got water inside it. I thought this sounded dodgy but went with it anyway. When the car came back it was fine. 3-4 weeks later guess what, the car started squealing again. We took the car the car back again and this time they said that the alternator needed to be changed and that it will take 2 weeks to get it from Germany. They said we could continue driving the car while we waited for the part. The car squeal eventuality become unbearable, to the point where you would stop at the lights and everybody would look at you..
The alternator eventually arrived and was replaced ,problem solved... Right.. Wrong. A month later the car started its squealing again, we now have an appointment again for this Friday.
I am real BMW fanatic, and this is not what I expected from BMW. I.m really disappointed, i'm a real petrol head and love my straight 6's, I was coming around to liking diesels, but this literally turns me away from diesels as I'm questioning there reliability.
If you can help with troubleshooting I would highly appreciate it, so that I can make some suggestions to BMW about how to fix there own flipping cars,
