Hi BMW Fans

so i have had my car for just over a year, and since the last service i have sent it to BMW, after that the car has a sound as if it is misfiring, although all the power is still there, the sound is louder when cold, plus on start a small white puff comes out but is not continuous.

again the car has all its power etc.

if anyone might know or suggest what this could be i would truly appreciate it. hope it is something simple such as a filter. and not the injectors or pumps.

Thank you in advance for your responses.

Regards
Lee

Appologies if i posted it in the wrong location :)

Usually any BMW workshop(whether it is an independent mech or BMW themselves) will be able to see which glowplug or glowplugs are faulty simply by running diagnostics on the car. This would show you exactly which cylinder or cylinders need new glow plugs as well as show whether the glow plug module is faulty or not. From what I heard the module is fairly expensive, but the glow plugs themselves are quite cheap(a couple hundred bucks at most).

Thank you for the info truly does help just one question if the car's engine is heated to optimum it still making the misfire like the sound but much softer.

will it still be plug related?

I had a Ford Focus diesel previously which one injector failed the car wouldn't start so I am canceling that theory out as well.

Thanx again for responding, loving my beemer thus far just want this sorted so i can stop stressing about it :)
