Hi Guys, just bought a 2001 e46 320d f/l with the intent of reselling.
i'm told that the original ecu was stolen.
spoke to various people including bmw and it seems to be a mission to sort out.
i was supplied with another ecu.
Whats my best option???

We can sort it for you....

But, not until you go introduce yourself, no help for free...:yuck:

Hi Kish, what would the cost be for the repair?
need to sell the vehicle and i think i might have already paid too much for it?
Just need an idea from you, so i know what to do.

i'm very new to the site, so i'm not sure what you mean by "introduce myself" but i have added you to my buddy list, not sure if that helps anything

the ecu, ews (imobilizer) and keyset are paired at the factory.. to replace a ecu on a car you ideally need a ecu+ews+key from the donor car. or you need somebody that really knows what the are doing to pair a used ecu, ews, key that was not paired in factory to each other.. bwm will not help you with this.

or you can buy a new ews and pair it to the used ecu..

Hi!
plenty of indy mechanics with Bmw tools can help you. If you are in Pta inbox Coisman about this and He'll give you the contacts for someone who help allign ews + used ecu/dde. They helped me with my E36 but lil pricy

However, She no start now:-(, something to do with the intake manifold, cos when its removed, car starts.

By the way, thanks sash for leading me in the way, intro is done, just hope its done right.
