Hi Gents

I am very new to this forum, so I would like to have some help plz.
I have a 2002 E46 318ti, the car seems to be quite heavy on fuel, takes a quarters of a tank from jhb to centurion, R100.00 for abt 42km's.

This doesnt seem right at all. Any advice or tips? Probaply some diagnoisis from the experts?

Thanks a mill!! :ty:

Have you checked to see if any fuel is leaking from underneath the car, especially while it is running. Check along the fuel lines from the tank (at the rear of the car) all the way to the front. If you cant see any noticable fuel leak then perhaps do the fault check....

WOW... that is a lot of fuel.

Whats your litres per 100km.... or wait, the 318ti doesn't have that option on the dashboard does it? I know my brothers doesn't.

I get 1km per 1 rand in my car +-. So effectively, R100 should give me 100km. Thats driving 5th gear, 120/130kph to Menlyn from Bedfordview.

I have a 2.5 litre supercharged engine, so there is definitely something going wrong here with your ride.

I've driven my brothers 318ti and on R100 he can go forever.

Just thought I'd give you some different ideas of what other BMW's and Similar BMW's are doing in terms of fuel.

Hi there, try fuel pump pressure reading and air flow meter. Is your car sluggish at all whilst driving?

Dear 12 gauge, give us numbers...
Per liter, how many km's?? Does your car have a trip computer?? If not, wait till the feul light comes on and then put in R100, check how many liters it is, then drive till the light comes on again, and see how many km's you drove.
