Hi guys
Did some searches on this in the forum, but missing something.
What i would like to know is where does your temp gauge sit under normal driving between towns or even in town.
My temp gauge just gets out of the blue band, then when i hit town driving the car idles at about 1K, when driving some stop start in town the temp climbs to just above the first line, very seldom does it get to the centre of the gauge. When the temp is around the center my idling is at around what looks like 750rpm.
Should the car be running that cold?

Thanks
Bertus

I would think it would be better for the motor if the guage is in the middle. There is possibly aproblem with your thermostat. It can happen that the thermostat has jammed in the open position. There is also a possibility that the thermostat has been removed.

Thanks
How and where will I check to see if the thermostat is there or faulty? Diagnostic was tun on the car and showed no faults.

The thermostat is a mechanical component and it will probably not show up on diagnostic equipment. You would have to take the car to somebody that is familiar with BMW's. Have them change the thermostat. A thermostat is not very expensive.
