discussion 2022 CoD MW2 vs 2009 MW2

Hi,

I was a fan of the original MW2 on XBOX360.

I see that a rebooted MW2 was released recently.
Considering getting this for my PS4.

Anyone played both MW2s and can advise if they are similar in story with just an upgrade in graphics?

Also, has the "no Russian" mission been removed?

I don't comment on the on the story line as I only play multi-player and it has been super fun.

The download size is ridiculously large. Big plus is they have local server support in South africa which means we have a good latency.

I play on pc,I find controller players have a big advantage with aim assist as it's a cross play platform.

well i find dmz in the warzone 2 version really really fun, especially the proximity chat when you kill a "boet" aswell as being an easy way to unlock guns and level up your guns

I prefer campaign mode over multiplayer mode. Tried CoD Warzone when lockdown started and didn't really get into it.

I am almost done with Far Cry 5 and looking for another story to play. Though, FC5 is an epic sandbox that takes a long time to play through, while CoD is linear and quicker to get done. After playing MW2, I will look into FC6.

Basically, MW2 would be a Far Cry pallette cleanser.

Online reviews seem good. I just hope that it is not just a prettier rehash of the 2009 MW2

I got fc6 on disc for my series x and all i can say is wow, defs a buy, the whole story and the map all come together with the vehicles and the amount of gun customization to make one amazing game.

COD games are meant for online Brainless fragging.

I have played alot of both games and to be honest, its same sh1t.
the DMZ thing is fun for a while, until you get raped at the exfil zones by prepubescent kids who just camp and then swear at your mom while they sit on a hillside with a bolt gun.


Maybe im just old, or Tarkov has showed me what real skill is....

Tarkov would be decent if we had a server, any FPS with like 200ms is just unpleasant. CSGO is still the best in terms of tactics/teamplay and absolute skill.

But agree that the new COD games have become increasingly absurd.

SA servers are quiet depending on map and time of day. But good ping and hardly cheaters.

I feel like the guy who recently posted whether the 318i Mzansi edition is a good buy and got schooled.
I am a too softcore gamer
