2010 330d M-sport

Hi guys

I am thinking of getting rid of my x3 and going for more powerful 330d, 2010 model, m-shape, 18".

A few questions:

- its a 2010 model, 89 000km on the clock: should I be weary? should I prolong the motorplan?

-what is the fuel consumption on that thing?

-tyres: what is the cheapest option for those 18" buggers? should i wait until its out of motorplan and go tubeless rather which would be cheaper?

-how many KM's does one get on a set of?

-lastly, what are the things that start going wrong after 90 000km [or 100 000km and out of motorplan] - I am a bit weary.

my reasoning: my 20d x3 msport has got 19" tyres [not run flat but still paid R12k for the set and only got like 15000km on the previous set] and has got a avg fuel consumption of just under 10/100 [if I drive nicely I get 7,4 on long distance] and it has got 49 000km on the clock].

Bottom line: I would like to cut some costs on tyres and fuel etc...

Please help me.

[PS: I was looking at the F20 series as well, but the tyres cost just as much which makes everything a bit pointless in my opinion].

What i want is: good fuel consumption, power and little costs

It's a catch 22 with the 330d. What you save on fuel, you'll spend on rear tyres, unless you can restrain yourself when driving it.... which in a 330d is very, very difficult.

I would suggest investing in a space saver kit and ditching the runflats (if you have the boot space to spare). Either way though, rear tyres are going to need replacing.

Is your X3 still on MP?

Yup

Its still on motorplan, for the next 50 000km or another 3 years or so, paid off as well.

Lovely car.

But it's a bit boring and miss something sportier,
and secondly I would like to free up some cash honestly speaking. Hence I was looking at something "cheaper".

I was considering the f20 125i and 120d as well, but even there you pay too much.

[I was spoiled as I had a company car for a long time who paid for petrol and tyres - hence made the BMW driving experience even more fun ]
