Hi fellow fanatics

I just posted under the diesel section as well.

I got numerous answers, but now I am curious with regard to specifics to the X3.

I have been told any second hand BMW diesel out of warranty is looking for trouble as our diesel in SA is not that good and clean. Hence providing problems, with regard to injectors and turbo failure.

Is this, a 2007, x3, 3.0d with 155 000 taking a high risk?

Should one rather look at alternatives?

The dealer advised to rather buy second hand petrol cars or buy a diesel new, than secondhand.

Any input will be appreciated.

Modern-age diesel BMWs are quite sensitive as they require low-sulphur fuel, especially on the SD(X5 and X6) models.

Personally, If there were 150k plus X3 3.0i and 3.0d I would go for the petrol, not because I prefer the 3.0i engine over the 3.0d, but I'm just put off high kilos on a diesel.

Turbo failure is a big issue.
