Hi Guys,

Sorry for posting here but not enough posts to post in for sale section yet,

Maybe looking at selling my 2006 330d manual, sportspack.
Mileage = 77000km,silver, new runflats, motorplan up to june this year, can be extended 1 more year.

Looking at a newer model 330d from a friend,

Catch is it has about R150k mark on motorplan, hit a bag on highway during construction about 2years ago which had something hard, like a rock?,

the result was my g/box was replaced as well as exhaust.

How will this affect the price?
Car is in perfect condition, no other incidents,

I would be happy with say R200 - R210k
Bmw are stupid with their trade ins
for the car you get I think this is still very good value?

You should be able to get that type of money. Retail is R209k R229 if you consider the low mileage (Others with that mileage are in autotrader for R219, but I doubt they will get that price in the end...).

With 150k on comments on Motorplan , I'm sorry , I doubt you will fetch that price , but its good that you honest over here and telling the truth about it .

I'd say you could maybe get 180k for it ? Since its low mileage ?

Well, I don't see how the R150k damage is really a problem. >half of that was for a gearbox... (and now it has a new gearbox)

Its not a problem but when you try to get rid of it by trading it in , the dealers offer you peanuts , we had a 325ci E92 that had some engine problems and they gave us hell . The car also had problems . Not saying this is true towards all BMW's with comments , just its worthy to know .

I sold my E90 2007 330d M-Sport manual with 95000km on the clock for R185k. Trade was R150k and the car had no comments. I think you'll get R180k because of the comments. Trade will be +/-R130k from BMW and less from any other dealer.

You won't get one for that little but that's what dealers offer. Some dealer actually offered me R120k for mine :blab:

Forget what the book or Transunion says. For mine it said trade was R190k and retail R220k.

Unless it's a 330d LCI that you're getting for a song, I'd suggest you keep your car. Your mileage is low and the 3.0d motors are reliable. If you're afraid of service costs, then take it to a reputable non-bmw dealer for all your work once MP expires - they are really not high maintenance cars.

Also, if you chip your car, you'd be faster than a stock 330d LCI, if performance is the reason for your upgrade.

Just my R0.02 on this.

I'm based in Gauteng,

I love the car, the fact that I want another one tells you that:)
Say I kept it until next year, just before motorplan is up (after another extension up until June 13) and I put another 10,000km on, what would do you guys think I would get for it then?

My mates car is sitting with the same problem, R150K mark, so what I loose on mine, I should gain with his. It is an LCI - well I presume this is facelift?

Isn't it amazing that BMW force you to use their ARC's, but depreciate your car because of that! Especially here when I have a brand new gearbox.

thanks

Hi Guys,

Bringing up this old post, car will be up for sale now, just to show how good it is, I ended up keeping deciding to keep up to now, has 138000kms and never a day of hassles, all services with BMW,

just bought a new 330d so putting it up for sale now,was going to keep as a spare but just just don't have space or need for an extra car.

will post in for sale section and will link to this post for reference and transparency.

in Gauteng, Alberton if anyone keen,

regards
darren
