2004 X3 - 3.0lt fuel consumption

Not as good as the diesel, obviously, but its the much wiser choice between the 2.5 and the 3.0L

If you drive it like a normal person, about 10l to 12l per 100.

My wife's 3.0 X3 gives around 13l/100km in general city commuting, dropping to 10-11l/100km open road driving depending on speed.

If you do get one, I recommend that you get the vanos seals replaced asap on that M54 motor, they are most certainly vrot by now and will make the car lazy and heavy on fuel. My wife's car gave 16l/100km before I fixed the vanos seals at 150000 km.

Ok....and wots the cost on getting the vanos seals replaced?

The Vanos seals can be purchased from Moranor@axis (member here) for around R1000 and I am sure he can point to you a capable mech for installation. I DIY'ed the vanos seals and it took me around 4 hours to complete. A competent mech should be able to do it in far less time.
