Hey casiev.

I have a similiar problem. Engine got damaged due to failed oil pump, pistons, crank, sleeves ect. Total cost to repair just under R120K.

Where did you source you engine from? I am thinking of just replacing the engine, will be way cheaper to do.

Hey Pho3niX90

Jip my first quote was R144k excluding labour. What is the block id for the motor you're looking for?

Mine was the M57TUD Block ID 306 D2 - I battled over a year to find an engine. Prices varied from R25k-R65 for the same engine!!! :argh:

PM me and I'll forward you the details.

Hi All

The engine is on the way to Cape Town and I hopefully by next week they can start replacing the engine.

I can't wait to get the job done, been 370 days that she's been standing on blocks all covered in dust :yuck:

I hope that she'll be as lively as she used to be - driving that little Getz in Cape Town traffic is starting to drive me insane.

Thank you to all that commented and assisted me in this thread.

Well everyone

It's finally over, engine is replaced and she's driving like a dream!! It's been nearly a year since the break down but hell now I appreciate her all over again.

One major frustration though - traffic department to Police Clearance and back to Traffic department, oh yes did forget the Micro Dotting too. All this took me the best part of a whole day. I must admit though - the guys at the Police Clearance unit in Bellville was very professional and guided me through every step - well done guys.

I'll post a few pics over the next few days!
