HI Guys

i was wondering if the 2003 e60 530d also had 160kw?

the reason is i can get one at the moment it has 152kkm on the clock
the guy says it has white smoke in the mornings could this be glow plugs or something more major

Thanks

Most likely glow plugs. But it could also be turbo seals. No big deal, just replace the turbo right after you bought the car. IME, the car will only smoke on very cold mornings if it is glowplugs (less than 10C). But my experience is on the e39...

My 320d have a light white smoke on cold mornings. It also had the DME light (for the glowplugs) come on for a week or so, and then the light went away before I had a chance to look at fault codes or anything.

I will however not swop out the glowplugs...its not like we need them in this warm climate.

this year was the first time the glow plug thingy came on the dash,so i think next year is gna be worse,

sorry for helping you at absolutely nothing:sorry:

mine actually smokes in cold morings coz of my flex pipes that build up condesation that i shuld replace soon

You're right Spawn, something for us South Africans to start taking into consideration sice it's starting to snow in Joburb...can you believe it...

I'm lucky though to not stay anywhere near those snowy parts.

i think all e60 are 160kw some might have a software bump up to 170kw,its the later 08 e60 that got the 2.0 diesel variant only

I doubt it, my glowplugs are not all working and it is still perfectly happy in the sub-zero temperatures I have encountered this year (starting, driving etc.)
