I am thinking of replacing the rear air springs with steel springs as the existing air bellows could be giving problems at current mileage. Any one done this on their X5. What is involved except from getting new springs and top and bottom "pads". How big a job is it?
I think there would be some coding required since the car would need to know how to compensate for the lack of air-suspension components (and possibly change the VO)
Check out the American forums as the yanks seem quite adept at doing this kind of conversion.
