2002 754i E65 - iDrive Pin

Hi Guys,

A 2002 645i E65 is prompting for a PIN when the iDrive system is started initially - does anyone have any idea what the standard pin number is or if the system can be reset to factory settings?

My bad - long day it is indeed a 2002 745i E65!!

Only pin that the ID could require is for the mobile fone.

Hold on a second 645 is E64 I think, E65 is a 7 series.

I know of no other pin that it could be asking.

Leonard is correct. There is no pin for the i drive. Your best bet for the 745i is to do a hard re boot. disconnect battery and MOST Bus connector. This will do a reset. The other option is to hold in your trip meter button till the 21 menu screen pops up. The is an option in there to do a reset to factory options but beware that you will have to reset all your creature comforts once you do a full reset. i have some manuals for all the tricks in the 745i's....sold the car but miss it more each day!

Hey Has8223 - thanks for your reply - much appreciated - any chance of getting a copy of those manuals with all the tricks? This one came without an Owners Manual (have downloaded but not sure which is the correct one as the 2002 manual is for an E66 engine while the 2003 manual is for an E65 manual) - do you perhaps have the correct part number for the 2002 745i Manual or better still an elctronic copy perhaps?

May just go down the road of a factory reset as I am still learning/fumbling my way around the fancy features and haven't got any creature comfort settings stored as yet - only had the car a day! LOL Any advice would be appreciated - the Airbag Tensioner sensor is showing up - is that a costly fix or by-pass? Also, need to check rear right fog light - warning light popped up for that too. Drives like an absolute dream - collected her in Pretoria today and drove her back to Durban - what an absolute pleasure - 11.7 litres per 100 km - so many cops around I kind of HAD to stick to the speed limit! :thumbdo:
