2001 E46 320i New Battery

I've just had to replace my battery, (2001 E46 320i) and did so with a proper BMW battery from a BMW dealer. I wasn't aware that you had to "register" the new battery. Any issues if you don't ? Can it be done for this model ?

No registration necessary for any E46.

I've never even heard of battery registration as an option for any car without IBS, which not all E90's have.. Only applicable to newer model cars.
