2 Series front wheel drive

Saw in the paper this morning the new 2 series is going to be front wheel drive. 1,5l turbo petrol three cylinder, 1,6l turbo petrol four cylinder and a 218d. Looks quite nice. A lot like a lower X1 but higher than the normal 1 series. Am i behind times and was this info known to you guys? First time i heard or read about a fwd BMW was this morning!

I doubt theres a demand for bwm's in FWD to suddenly change the config.

M235i is rear wheel drive with optional limited slip diff... No FWD nonsense.

Yes, i think they call it the Active Tourer. Sorry if i rocked the boat, guys. Was very surprised to read about a front wheel drive BMW in the paper as it was the first i have heard of this! Was really shocked but all good things must come to an end some time.
