1997 318is Ignition Cylinder Lock/Barrel

Hello Fanatics,

I have a 1997 BMW 318is which has a broken ignition cylinder lock/barrel. I have looked everywhere and couldn't find a replacement besides the R6000 original part from BMW themselves. I then resorted to ordering one through Ebay from a store in Lithuania, which now turns out to be the wrong one!

Can anyone point me in the direction of a shop that would stock this part?

Check olx there's few e36 being stripped, hope u come right.

So here’s a way out , I had the same issues on my 318is and cause the price for a new barrel was so crazy I decided to go with a push start button, the key still needs to be in the ignition for the button to work so
Safety is also still there

my barrel was spinning, BMW in vereeniging quoted me 3500 for the barrel, boot lock, door lock two remote keys, service key and the dummy.
