Hi Guys.

Heres a few pics of my 96 328i manual.

I Purchased it 5 months ago (posted some pics on the forum back then) from a guy who owned a farm in mpumalanga. He has had it from brand new. It has 185000km on the clock now (174000km when purchased). The vehicle came with full manuals and books, 3 sets of keys and a full tool kit in the boot and even the torch (which doesnt work unfortunately). The car does not have a single oil leak and still moves like a bat out of hell!!

The car was in dire need of some loving tlc when i got her, but the essentials (engine, gearbox, diff, etc, etc) were all spot on. The black leather interior was in an excellent condition (no tears/ cracks on seats at all! although the seats were rock hard and lost colour) Put in alot of elbow grease to turn the paintwork from whitey brown (For some reason the paint took on a brownish tinge, dont know whether this was to do with the dust on the farm or what).

Over a period 5 months i have done the following:

Restore the paint back to alpine white 3 with lots and lots of polishing.
Replaced all front balljoints and the control arm bushes
Replaced the front windscreen
Fixed the height adjustment on the drivers seat
Complete service
Upgraded all speakers and head unit
Replaced all four discs and pads (ferodo)
Debaffled air box
Conditioned all seats with turtle wax leather treatment ( This stuff is magic, sometimes i cant believe its the same seats in the car, gone soft and lush and now a deep black colour.
Reconditioned front headlamps and fitted clear indicators
Used turtle wax black trim wax to revive all the beadings.
Various small fixes: lights, securing trims, etc
Fitted 50mm dual system front to back with free flow front muffler and semi free flow rear muffler.
Lowered front suspension.
16'' e46 rims and 4 new pirelli tyres

Still have quite a list of things i would like to do though....

By the way. I paid R35000.....

Heres some pics. Hope you guys like:

That's a nice ride

For R35k that 328i is lots of car for the money. Enjoy

Thanks alot guys.

Yeah, at R35k i like to consider a relative bargain. Had a choice between this one and a 98 auto. Glad i made the right choice. The manual is just too much of fun, although im sure the auto would have its positives as well.

Theres still quite a few things i would like to do tho, Semi clear tail lights and drop in filter being the next on my list.

I Will take some pics of the interior and engine bay soon.

Cheers....

Don't waste your time with another filter, just change the stock filter every time you change oil and it will work better than any performance filter.

@lushen - Your car is super cool.

Glad that youre having fun with it.

Im sure that the exhaust sounds super cool now that its been a lil while since you first fitted it.

I should be in durbs in a few weeks. We can go for a spin with all the BMW's in our crew. Will be a blast to running down the monastery road with 6 BMW's.

make that 7 with Dishens 323.

Thanks veru:thumbs:

Yeah the exhaust is sounding wicked now. Tone has deepened alot.

When you will be in durbs exactly? We have to meet up. Waiting to see that 330d! I think that moving in a crew with all the bm's is a top idea. Imagine what an eyeball it would be:rollsmile:

Car looks good and it is alot of car for 35k,

I'm with Donovan not a fan of the boot spoiler maybe consider a e36 thin lip boot spoiler type like you would find on an e46,

the semi clear tail lights (OEM of course) would set you car off just right,

still not a bad looking car on the whole great job.

Donovan and chucky: Thanks gents... Initially i wasnt a fan of the boot spoiler and even considered removing it, but as time went by, it kinda grew on me. Now i wouldnt dream of changing it, but hey, thats just me...

Xmax: Thats great. Let me know when you are around. We will definetely meet up

Don't do that - some of the oils in aftermarket filters cause alot more harm than the negligible benefits they bring. That's just my opinion of course.

Awesome find there LPM...

Don't pay any attention to the fin-haters, auto-fashion is just as cyclical as clothing fashion... Soon the bigger bootfins will be in fashion again and you will be among the in-crowd!
