18000km and 2nd water pump about to go

I started to get the noise from the water pump before it's going to fail today.
It's 18'000km's since it got changed the first time at 30,000km.
It's seems after 2010 BMW some how upgraded the water pump. I will post a video tomorrow of the sound it makes so you guys know in the future. Car just came back from a service so talk about murphy's law. I am going to do some research before changing and I have a VDO "upgraded" pump on the way. Would be keen to know what BMW did.
This water pump is a dreaded thing as it's the only trouble I have had. I do not even know if the cars check engine light works :bravo:

Sorry to hear about this George! But really keen to hear what it sounds like since I gather that it is similar or the same type that the rest of the E90's have!

G-drive sell these water pumps at a slightly better price than the agents...
