Are you sure you even know what CS GO is? The GFX are great. Its not an old game. If you are maybe thinking about CS 1.6, or CS Source then maybe i would agree with you.

haha of course I know what CS GO is I have played it allot in the past, the graphics were a big step from cs and cs source but compared to games like quake champions its a decade behind. Like I said its a good game and it has its place but I am not a CS GO only gamer, I play allot of games and I am a 3d animator and game environment and lighting artist so for me to look at a game like CS GO when games like quake champions and hell blade exist and tomb raider etc CS GO is just an eye sore for me.

Its a competitive FPS that people keep playing because its game mechanics are very well designed. It's also very fun to play at a lan still.

Play Doom 2017 on a 24 inch monitor and then play it on a 4k HDR 55" TV and you will understand how good a game can look and feel and will have a better understanding of where I am coming from. To some people graphics and the experience of a game mean more than just pure game play.

But we are all different this is why on a forum we can discuss these things and give the pros and cons of each, its not to say who is right and who is wrong. There is no right answer here, there is only personal preference.

Aight fam, I dont get the CS GO thing but will leave it at that.

Also i agree with you on the 24" vs the 55". Cause i can relate...

You see cause chicks always say my willy looks much better on a 55" tv cause they can barely see it on the 24" pc screen when i send pics.

I think OP must decide what he'll be playing more of. But even something like QC will be better at 144hz (heck, if you're running a 1080GTX I think you should be trying to get a 200hz+ screen, but hey...) as action games, especially competitive ones, are heavily refresh rate dependent.

Something like Tomb Raider will be cool on a big screen because you're just playing it for visuals and for story, not for competitive purposes, so all you need to beat is some AI. Similar for stuff like mortal kombat, fifa etc. etc. If that's more your gaming vibe then rather go for size, if competition and online stuff is your vibe, then 144hz >>>>>> size.

Hey guys, thanks for all the input. I should have clarified that it wont be used for anything competitive, besides a bit of PUBG. Graphics are far more important than competitive advantage. Let's see if anything decent pops up on Carbonite :)

Thanks dudes!

If graphics are what your after then what I said in previous posts stands. and a 24inch monitor will be your worst option.

by the way here is Doom on my current rig, 4k 55" HDR TV, Cellphone camera frame rate is too low to record this properly but you get the idea, Its smooth and as responsive as anything, no different to playing on a pc monitor as the TV has a PC mode option:

[video=youtube]

if you want to see the setup check this thread out and scroll down:
show us your gaming rig

Not saying get a TV as that is the most expensive option but it gives you an idea of how good things look on a higher res larger screen.
Its also allot more relaxing as you don't need to sit with your nose touching the screen to see anything lol.

Nice, but i'm sure you need some serious hardware to run on a 4K screen?

I was running my previous 4k screen with a 980ti for over a year.

But yes now I have a 1080ti which is ideal for 4k.
