135i n55 buzzing sound wen engine switched off

Hi guys.after driving my car.put in park n remove the key.a strange high pitched buzzing noise came up.didnt worry bwt it.then last week under boost a loud noise came up.i boosted again but it went away.yesterday i drove car seems to be down on power n engine light came on once.reset it n neva came bak on.but der is something wrong i can feel da car low on power.also wen down changing gears its dragging.it has a weird tone.something is seriously wrong.car is booked in next week.any idea wat cud be the problem. Oh n i noticed my hooter not working.nt sure if its connected in any way.curious to know wats wrong with it plz.thanks


Also normally wen i reset my jb4 it just resets without the needle jumping. But bow it goes to 140kmh i think n den resets not sure if its picking up an error. As i said b4 i aint clued up wd da code reading etc.dont hav the usb cable aswel

Can you read for faults? Electric water pump might be running after switch off. Drive the car on Map4 and evaluate the stock power

No i cant bud.i will drive it again on map 4 n get bak to u.


I 4got to mention i noticed the radiator fan is on quite often. Before fan shud only come on after driving hard or aircon is on.but now fan is on almost all the time wen i park car off.i feel something major has broken down.btw car is doin 40 000km now

Car seems to be goin fine.power somehow feels normal. But still the gears are extremely lazy.shifting up is fine.but down its lazy.n even the throttle response.

Turn ignition on and set both temperature dials to max and put fan on 1st setting.

Keep accelerator in for 20 sec and leave. You should here the electric water pump come on. Confirm that it is running by standing infront of car.

The buzzing noise might be the electric water pump but to confirm I would have the codes read.

The noise is now gone.i used the car today power seems normal and no warning lights on.but my gears are still dragging wen down changing.car is booked in for brakes so i wil inform them on this problem.i will try testing the pump. If all is well wat do i do next?


Wher can i buy the cable to connect to jb4 to my laptop?:praise:

Hi guys.twt id giv an update. According to da fault code bmw read the variable valve timing motor has failed some time back on the car.dey say i have been driving with no variable valve motor for a while now.wat is this motor exactly? Can someone explain plz?:withStu:

Well, that is strange if vvt isn't working you wouldn't be able to drive car, anyway if they replace vvt motor make sure they replace the eccentric shaft too, if they say no tell them to look at Bmw steps and it states that the shaft should be replaced

As soon as mine starting giving issues car went into limp mode to protect engine, and wouldn't allow me to rev car. But it won't be the 1st time someone at Bmw read codes incorrectly

Update.it was the valvetronic gear that jammed.replaced it.also some shaft.common problem according to the mech.car back up on power.everything back to normal.:tiptoe:
