Rubbing?
I have a 2008 bmw 135i M sport coupe and am craving modification. I've just bought 18'' 8.5j all round ac schnitzer wheels wanna use them with my standard tyres 215\40\18 in front and 245\35\18 and drop the vehicle. no rub?

Lowering Springs and shocks
I just want to put lowering springs and shocks. Options ac shnitzer or eibach? how much are they and how much do they lower? i know scnitzer is bmw approved, i heard eibach is aswell if fitted by bmw dealer, is this true?

Exhaust
Exhaust? i heard if you put a exhaust system, you lose your warranty on your whole engine. Is this true? What options do i have? How much will it cost. I cant lose my engine warranty.

ECU upgrade
I was thinking ob from chip logic, he says 70kw and 160nm gain. he did my bro's 135i a while ago and my bro had no problems. my bros car just about beat an m5 on the quarter mile and he only gad ecu upgrade. ob says its undetectable. Is it? Good idea? Other options?

I live on he coast. price is important but i would like to keep my warranty. Please help guys, Im new to this site and i'm to modifying NEW TURBO CARS LOL. THANKS:clap:[/size]

Hi Kisho...firstly what is the offset of your rims . To use your std tyres
you need staggerd fittment ie wides and narrows.

ecu upgrades you can also go piggy back speak to Twinzz@ Rennsport.

I am usinging Excede but there are also lots of good tuners out there
Chiplogic,Xcede.Frc also Devan @ Unitronic I heard he has good software
from Eurocharge

alotta questions :)

Wheels.. Rubbing will depend on the offset of the wheels

Springs..
Only acs is "approved" by mplan
The other option is bmw performance.
Some dealers wont give u a hard time if u fit other good quality springs, but they can remove your suspension cover under mplan

Chip..
70kw and 160nm sounds high for tune only
Georgesmooth will be able to confirm this, as he uses chiplogic

oh yeh.. Xhaust option is bmw performance or acs if u dnt want hassles from bmw.. But again, u can get away with others, if your dealer likes u

Revo, i suppose i can sell one of my body parts to buy schnitzer springs and shocks but i dont think it will be as low as eibach?
Do you think i could get the exhaust and springs second hand maybe on this site?

By the way thanks for the help guys, keep it coming lol

if you are fitting acs or eibach pro kit, u can kp your stock sport shocks
These kits have the same drop
The bmw performance kit should also be similar
Not sure if they sell the springs separate or as a complete kit with shocks

A good kit (coilovers) should run you around 17 to 20k.. If u are prepared to spend that, kw and bilstein are great.

Thats good to know, so now i just need springs. i wont go so expensive its just for the look. Shnitzer sounds good right about now. not going circuit racing, will probably just kick a few amg's on the quarter mile from time to time.

Do you guys know how much ac schnitzer springs are?

I stay East London avi, thanks for the offer. The problems that i found with putting on 19'' wheels, and believe me i've tried, its the offsets of the wheels especially at the back, they always use stick out for the hell. In america they've started making wheels in 19'' specific for 1 addicts, thats why i just went with 18'' ac schnitzer. when you drop with 19'' you gonna have to do fender work. my car touched with 19'' wheels no drop
As for the exhaust, extremely jealous:hammerhead:
What about warranty on the engine?

Hi Kisho,

I have been running OB's software since 2008 when the car had 120km on the clock with no problems. The initial gain I received on a very conservative map was 45wkw. My car did at that stage make 10wkw more than the average. I had specifically asked for a conservative tune as the car is driven by my wife. Since then the only power adder besides the chip I have added is the 76mm downpipes on the exhaust which removes the catalytic converter. If you take the car in to BMW with this mod you will most probably loose your motorplan if you are not friendly with the people that work there.
I would say the total gain I have received after this mod and the addition of a intercooler (which does not yield power but makes the power more constant) is 89kw. I do monitor the motor continuously with various logging devices and to date I can say the tune is still conservative and more power can be made. OB is happy with the results and has recommended to keep the tune as is for longevity of the motor as he sees no point in having the vehicle electronics intervene under certain condition for a extra 10wkw and having to run special fuels.
To date I have run a 13.0@180 on a unprepared track. The car runs ahead of my E60 M5 up until 230 and am very happy with it.
The last 135 he did a few weeks ago ran 13.0 at ODI with chip only on stock runflat tires which shows the advances in his software since 2008.

hey George. you know the more i hear ob's work the more i'm impressed. My brothers was at 1 bar boost. Think i'll do the same. What boost was yours? 76mm downpipes on the exhaust, seems more and more like a must, but i cant loose my warranty on my whole engine, if it was just the exhaust i would do it in a flash. Bmw so petty, Love the cars, hate the dealers.

we fitted 19s with kw coilovers and no touching.. It can be done
You just nd to use the right wheels

first u need to decide how much u want to spend on wheels.. The higher the budget, the more options there are

But u can fit up to 235.35 front and 245.30 rear, using 19x8 front and 19x9 rear with high offsets

I ran the 1 bar boost for a year and since then have increased it slightly without evident need of higher octane fuels.
If you do little mileage and the car is going to go in not so often and you can afford to swop out the downpipe each time I would say its a must as well. The benefits are not on peak power the spool up of the turbos are phenomenal. The throttle response becomes like a naturally aspirated car.
